Bush LCD15W08DVDHD: The smallest HD Ready TV ever?

So you've got a 50-inch plasma in the lounge, a 32-inch LCD in the bedroom and a waterproof TV in the bathroom. That only leaves the kitchen devoid of entertainment. No need to panic, though -- Bush has released what could well be the smallest HD Ready television your money can buy.

The catchily named LCD15W08DVDHD has a 15.4-inch widescreen LCD, built-in DVD player and, of course, features an HDMI input for watching all your high-definition material.

This TV has a decent range of other inputs, too. There's a VGA-in for connecting a computer, or even an Xbox 360. There's a single Scart socket, S-Video, composite inputs and analogue audio-in. There's also digital coaxial out so you can get audio from the DVD player to your Dolby Digital amplifier, in case you decide to use this 15.4-inch television as the centre piece of your home cinema...

But is there actually any point of an HD Ready screen as small as this? Some will tell you 26-inch HD Ready screens are too small, so this really does seem to be a bit of a waste of time.

And all these features don't come cheap -- the Bush LCD15W08DVDHD weighs in at a frankly staggering £250. There's no built-in Freeview either, a feature that would have made this a much more interesting product and would have justified its high price tag.

We may think the price is a little over-the-top, but it is fair to say this TV does have its uses. The integrated DVD player will come in handy in the kids' bedroom, and if you have a PS3 then the HDMI means you can hook it up if someone else is watching all the other HD Ready screens in your house. -Ian Morris

Update: Bush has informed us there will be a version of this television with a built-in Freeview receiver released in June.
