Panasonic LCD: Don't wave that VGA cable at me, sonny
We were all psyched up to replace our puny 17-inch monitor with this big 26-inch model from Panasonic, the TX26LXD50, but it simply didn't know what to do with our VGA cable. This model, it seems, is a pure TV only, and as if to stress that, it comes with an integrated Freeview tuner.
We've been more enamoured with Panasonic's DVD recorders than their TVs in the past, but this little beauty could turn the tide. It looks lovely, with the same sleek lines as its big plasma brothers. It also boasts some features that we've never seen before -- when you turn the TV on, it has a security routine that registers your name and address, so thieves will get a nasty surprise if the TV is found anywhere other than your front room.
We're more interested in how it performs as a TV, frankly, but we expect it'll fare quite well thanks to a set of component video inputs. For the full story, wait for the review to hit the site. -GC
