Twitter's long awaited Music service is expected to go live today, giving you a keener-than-ever insight into exactly how much Carly Rae Jepsen the rest of the Internet is enjoying.
Moreover, the long-rumoured service will also let you know what Carly Rae herself is listening to, as artists will have profiles that show you which bands they're following.
Across various tabs, you'll also see which artists are popular across all of Twitter, and discover emerging talent poised for success. A 'Now Playing' section shows you what people you follow are listening to. Naturally you can tweet songs you like.
Music for the app is drawn from iTunes, Spotify and Rdio. If you have a Spotify or Radio account you'll be able to play any tracks that are available on those services. Twitter says it's looking into adding other music services as well.
There's no Android app however, so those of you allied to Google's green robot will have to stick with the Web version for now. Twitter says it will bring its new toy to Android "over time".
That's rather vague -- I've contacted Twitter asking for a time estimate, and I'll let you know if I hear more.
