You may have already seen the new-look Gmail, but don't worry if not -- Google is rolling it out to everyone with a Gmail account in the next few days.
So what can you expect? A cleaner look, less clutter, automatic resizing, and customisable density, reports The Next Web. That's right, you choose how much info you see on screen at once, whether it be tens of Viagra spam emails, or just the odd one or two.
The new look mimics the sparse styling Google has brought to a few of its offerings recently. It automatically scales when you resize the window, so you can always keep an eye on all your info. You can also choose how much you see on-screen at once -- just select from Comfortable, Cozy, and Compact options -- go for the latter for smaller text and icons, with more information.
New themes are also the order of the day. They come from iStockphoto, so are high resolution, looking even sharper and more colourful as a background. And the sidebar is more useful whether you use Chat a lot or not, as you can enlarge the Chat part or collapse it completely.
Considering this is Google, perhaps it's not unsurprising the search option has also been updated. You can search direct by type of mail rather than having to jump to a different page to do so. You can make filters based on your search criteria too.
You can see the new features in an introductory YouTube video here.
A 'Switch to the new look' link should appear in the bottom right of your Gmail inbox in the next few days.
What do you think of the new look? Have you been using it already? Let us know on our Facebook page.

A redesign is all well and good but how about some multi-account functionality, Google? I'm not going to be prized away from Mail or Sparrow any time soon because I need to switch between seven accounts quickly and easily. The only thing GMail in a browser is good for is a quick check of mail at work.
