'Exceptional' demand for Windows 7 pumps Microsoft profits

The huge success of Windows 7 helped Microsoft romp to $19bn of revenue for the quarter, earning $6.6bn in profit. It was a record three months for Windows sales, with a whopping 60 million Windows 7 licences shifted. On the down side, Xbox 360 sales fell by 13 per cent from the previous year.
