If, like us, you work with Microsoft Outlook on a daily basis, you may often find yourself thinking that scraping your eyeball on a brick would be a more pleasurable experience. But the following free or free-to-try add-ons can help ease your pain, making it less of a struggle to find emails and recipients, add new contacts and keep up-to-date with appointments.

Created by Microsoft's co-founder Paul Allen and team, Xiant Filer is a beta add-on for Outlook that helps you quickly move individual email messages and entire threads from the inbox to the appropriate folder, in just a click. Organising messages by topic is another option.
