YouTube users uploading 20 hours of video every minute

Software

No sooner did we write about Facebook's insane volume of uploaded photos, does YouTube push this juicy factoid out of the door: 20 hours of video footage is uploaded to YouTube every 60 seconds.

In fact, just in the time it took us to write that paragraph, 20 hours of cats falling into stuff was added to the site. Interestingly, this news comes only a few months after it was discovered that in the United States, more searches are made on YouTube than on the whole of Yahoo.

To celebrate, YouTube has added a small new feature to make responding to uploaded videos easier. Now, when a video finishes playing, a 'Respond' icon pops up within the video box, alongside 'Play again'. Click this, and you can record your response right from your Web cam as normal.

If you're looking for a video to respond to, check out The Engineer's Guide To Cat Yodelling, currently CNET UK's favourite of all cat videos.
