Might be a stupid question but is the Wii U's controller's touch screen capacative as in iPhone or resistive like the Nintendo DS?

To add to the comments on Windows 8 - I've used MS-DOS, Windows 3, Windows NT, Beta tested 95, used XP, Beta tested W7... Yes I did skip Vista. Now I was too busy to get into the Beta of W8 but I did buy it and install on "Day 1", however today I have just reformatted the hard drive and rolled back to W7. Why? W8 seems to be the unhappy love child of a desktop OS and a tablet OS - like all compromises, it tries to be the best of all things and (in my opinion) failed at all, compromising user experience by trying to be something new for newness sake
If W8 had been good, I'd have tried Windows Phone 8 but not now. Is Windows 8 at risk of becoming the next Vista without the appropriate enhancements? Is MS in desperate need of Windows 8.5 to fix things?
In the meantime I will stay with Windows 7 and consider Linux and/or Mac OSX
