It's nearly time to bid a fond farewell to 2012, and that can mean only one thing: yes, it's time for the first ever CNET UK Podcast Stuff That Was Quite Good Awards.

Join the CNET UK team as we switch our cranial units to 'reminisce' and look back over the year of the Olympics, the Diamond Jubilee and Gangnam Style. But what were the highlights of the year? And what gadgets have the CNET podcast team deemed the best of the best?

We also turn to you, esteemed listener, for your help in deciding the prestigious first annual CNET Readers and Listeners Bestest Phone of the Year Award. Which blower will scoop the crown? Will the Nexus 4 sweep the board? Can the S3 take the cake? Will the iPhone 5 go home disappointed?

Whether you're looking for help and advice with your latest or next gadget, or you just have something to get off your chest about the tech questions of the day, leave us a comment below or have your say on our Facebook page -- it's peopled by your fellow gadget geeks, not to mention staffed by the CNET team with a fistful of behind-the-scenes glimpses.

To watch the team get misty-eyed about 2012's best bits -- complete with videos and pictures and animated bits, what larks! -- simply press play on our video below.

gotta love how people think it was only google and apple that bought the kodak patents, it was a huge conglomerate of tech companies:
Apple, Microsoft, Google, Samsung, Adobe, Facebook, Amazon, Shutterfly, BlackBerry-maker Research In Motion, Fujifilm, HTC and Huawei Technologies.

thats always the problem with Cnet, too much bias and not enough facts
