Crave Podcast 90: Gadget lovers are arrogant? Get lost

Roll up, roll up, it's Crave Podcast number 90. This week -- just like every damned week -- we bring you the best in tech news, gadget hands-on and Net-based frivolity. That's how we roll. Get used to it.

Rory, Kate, Rich T and Rupert kick things off by discussing Firefox 3's attempted download world record, then move swiftly on to bigger and better things, like snails delivering email. That's right, some nutters at Bournemouth University have harnessed the power of real life gastropods to deliver messages.

We also find time to discuss Nintendo's new 'sat nav for the kitchen', how Sweden is spying on its own citizens, and more shockingly, the news that gadget buyers are the most arrogant human beings on the planet. Which moron said that?

Episode 90 is also the birthplace of a new section -- The Year in Tech. Here we select a year coinciding with the podcast episode number, and check out what technologies came about. This time it's 1990 of course, which is the year of the Super Famicom, Hubble Space Telescope, and the Game Gear. Listen and remember, friends.

This week's WTF is about pr0n -- shock, horror. Apparently, the British government is giving pornography lovers 6 months to get rid of all 'extreme' content before they start arresting you all. Bad times indeed.

Right-click here to download the 'cast straight to your PC, subscribe to it in iTunes, get your RSS on, then go natter with the other listeners in the Crave Podcast Lounge. You'll find all the other episodes here. Until next week, chumloids. -Rory Reid
