CNET UK Podcast 259: Siri seems to be the hardest word

CNET UK Podcast 259: Siri seems to be the hardest word

Phones phones phones! It's been a massive week for mobile phones, with the arrival of the iPhone 4S, Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Motorola Razr. We take a long hard look at Ice Cream Sandwich and the rest of the week's technology news -- and all with a very special guest: Siri.

We've pitted the 4S, Galaxy Nexus and Razr against each other in phone combat. And in other phone news, we look ahead to newly-profitable Nokia's big Windows Phone announcement next week -- will Windows Phone take our favourite Finns back to the top of the mobile phone tree?

We reveal how this week's most popular story on CNET UK frees you from the tyranny of iTunes. And we pick our favourite bits of kit from the past week, including the new 18-megapixel, full-frame Canon EOS 1D X, which much to Luke's dismay costs as much as a car. And speaking of cars, we get excited about an electric DeLorean -- which is presumably charged up by lightning strike, Back to the Future-style.

And we introduce our special guest, the voice of Siri. Siri is Apple's new voice-controlled personal assistant on the iPhone 4S. But is Siri any good?

We also check out your feedback, summing up the Android and iOS battle in just a few words, reassuring early adopters about the Galaxy Nexus and searching our feelings about our favourite scene from The Empire Strikes Back. We also reveal this week's lucky, lucky badge-winners!
