CNET UK Podcast 122: Tax the Internet?

CNET UK Podcast 122: Tax the internet?

CNET UK Podcast

With the CNET UK podcast as inevitable as public-transport incompetence in snowy conditions, here we are again. This week, GameSpot UK lent us Guy Cocker to talk through the latest news and awesome products with Ian Morris and Nate Lanxon.

It's been a busy news week, so we talked briefly about Gears of War being shut down by anti-cheat technology on the PC. We pondered DAB radio and wondered if it has a long-term future, as well as discussing multi-broadcaster VoD service Kangaroo losing the spring in its step.

Movie fans will, no doubt, be pleased to hear about Orange Wednesdays adding two for one PizzaExpress meals and free garlic bread, making Wednesdays the new Thursdays and Tuesdays the new Monday. Mobiles also got slightly hammered, thanks to a new Google service that promises to track friends and family as they go about their business. Our last news item was Windows 7, and its retail versions -- apparently, the tech press has overreacted slightly.

Crave saw Guy tell us about Battlefield 1943 for Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. Nate got a scoop on BBC HD downloads coming to iTunes, and Ian boosted his ego by promoting two of his Crave Live videos.

In feedback, we took a pair of questions from our user forums. If you have questions, please let us know in the CNET UK forums. If you'd like to talk to us about the podcast, we have a special forum for those discussions.
