Packard Bell Maestro LED 230 HD monitor offers hi-def asymmetricality

The Maestro LED 230 HD 23-inch monitor from Packard Bell flaunts a 1,920x1,080-pixel resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio and a jauntily asymmetrical stand.

The Maestro display is definitely eye-catching and PB is clearly hoping it will be the eye candy on your desk with its slim design and liberal use of black and clear plastic and aluminium. The asymmetrical stand is clearly making a strong statement -- we're just not sure what it is. "I'm not afraid of leaning," perhaps?

The Maestro isn't all about its looks though. A contrast ratio of 12,000,000:1 and a 5ms response time should mean your gaming and HD movies look pretty hot on this thing -- assuming, of course, you can take your eyes off the crazy stand. The Maestro also provides the usual inputs of VGA, DVI and HDMI for all your home cinema or computer needs.

P-Bell is also keen to flag up this thing's green credentials. The Maestro doesn't contain nasty mercury or any of those bad halogen gases that are dirtying up our oxygens. It's also good on power efficiency and apparently comes in very recyclable packaging -- and if that doesn't excite you, we don't know what will.

No word as of yet on how much you're going to have to shell out for this artistic beast when it's released in the UK in May, although an EU price of €199 (£170) has been bandied about. There's no indication, either, on whether you can have it in any other size -- but be sure to keep your eyes out if asymmetrical, planet-friendly displays are your thing.

C'mon. This looks pretty tasty. 1,920 screen too.
