Samsung T220HD monitors: Rose, emerald and sapphire black
Remember Samsung's 'rose black' TVs we told you about a couple of months back? You know, the ones with the bezels that appear slightly reddish in the light? Now that concept has made the transition to LCD monitors.
Whereas the TV range shipped only in rose black, the T220HD LCDs will ship with rose black (red), emerald black (green) and sapphire black (blue) bezels. Samsung says the colours have been injected using a complicated fabrication process, but whatever combination of jiggery pokery and pixies has been employed, it's safe to say these are among the best-looking monitors we've seen.
Each T220HD will pack a digital Freeview tuner so you can use it as a spare telly. All will have 22-inch panels with a native resolution of 1,680x1,050 pixels, a 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 300cd/m2 brightness, two HDMI ports and a 5ms response time.
The T220HD series will hit the streets in time for summer 2008 for a price of around €299 (£240). It's rather pricey, we think you'll agree, but what do you expect for gorgeousness? -Rory Reid
