Vodafone iPhone vs Orange iPhone vs O2 iPhone: Hello, competition

Vodafone has thrown its big red hat in the increasingly crowded iPhone ring, announcing this morning it will sell both the iPhone 3G and 3GS in the UK and Ireland in "early 2010". Following hard on the heels of Orange's iPhone announcement, Vodafone is similarly reticent to say how much it'll cost.

As we said yesterday, more companies offering Apple's smart phone can only be a good thing for you, the paying-through-your-bleeding-nose customer. As no cash deets are available to pore over, the only differentiator at the moment is the networks' UK 3G coverage. We showed you how Orange is currently trouncing O2 on that front yesterday, but how does Vodafone fare?

Vodafone UK 3G coverage

So slightly better than O2, but not quite as good as Orange, we'd suggest.
