Top five worst mobile phones, as voted for by you

Not all phones are created equal. Some of them you love, some of them you hate. We asked you wonderful chaps on our Facebook page which phones are so horrendous the mere memory of them has you waking up in a cold sweat.

We took the five most popular choices and asked you to rank these -- in order of most sinful -- in a poll. In short, we're taking you through the five most hateful mobile phones of all time, as voted for by you.

5. Nokia 7600 -- we're honestly a little sad to see this one at number five as it most certainly deserves the top spot. We don't know who at Nokia thought a square phone with the buttons scattered around the screen was a good idea, but we hope they received the medical attention they so clearly needed.

4. Sony Ericsson K850i -- The K850i may have had a pretty nifty camera -- nifty by 2007's standards anyway -- but the awful keyboard seemed to have been crafted by the devil himself, hell-bent on making our lives miserable with unresponsive typing. Mix in the awkward navigation and you've got yourself a dish that's pretty tough to swallow.

3. Nokia N97 -- We had such high hopes for the N97, but sadly the smart phone fuse was aching to be lit and the N97 was a metaphorical damp match. It may have had some power, but its bland interface and appalling resistive touchscreen was enough to make you all shudder with horror.

2. LG Viewty -- We were actually quite keen on the Viewty when we had it in for review back in '07. But the shine quickly wore off as you became infuriated with its poor touchscreen and awkward interface. It may have had a 120fps video camera, but that was apparently just a sparkle of gold amidst a sea of manure.

1. Sony Ericsson K700i -- You complained about the poor screen, horrible user interface, unresponsive buttons and unattractive design. So is there anything good to say about this thing? Well, you probably wouldn't be too sad if you lost it. That's something, right?

There we have it, your top five worst phones. Thanks to all of you for voting -- we only hope you haven't been scarred too badly by the memories of these nasty little things.

I would happily vote for my HTC Wildfire as an awful phone, it promises much but does not deliver on any sort of performance!

I loved my Nokia 7600... Although the nascent 'smartphone' features prompted me to upgrade to a HTC Magician, and I've never looked back.

I had an N97. Oh, the horror. Stuck with effing thing for 18 months, I could have/should have wept. You mention the resistive touchscreen, which did suck; far worse than that was the fact it was so SLOW. In the 18 months I had it I think I only succeeded in answering about 5 calls, all the others went to voice mail in the time it took the phone to wake up so I could answer it.

Nokia wonder about why they are no longer relevant, why all those lovely loyal customers they had for so many years. This phone is the reason why. 10 years as a Nokia customer. NEVER EVER AGAIN. Even if they somehow manage to produce something fairly good, I won't even consider it. Screw you Nokia, you deserve to go out of business.

I hate my HTC Wildfire too. Smartphone? Nothing smart about it. Extremely slow internet and usage. Poor camera and poor video. GPS takes forever to start up i could go on lol....Funny thing is i had the viewty and k700i also. I think I'm attracted to bad phones or I'm a cheap, probably both. Time for a good phone me thinks.

I am surprised. I had a LG Viewty. It was a good phone and I liked it a lot before I got my Samsung Jet (which was rubbish). Now I have had HTC Desire HD for some time and I am really happy with it!!!

I had the K700 and I liked it.
The interface was fine for it's time. Simple, obviously, but fine. Only nokia sheep couldn't be bothered to try a different UI but I won't light the touch paper on that long forgotten war...
The keys were the worst thing especially after having a T610 (one of my top 5 phone btw).
On the other hand it was a properly tough little bugger. I dropped that phone so many times but it didn't blink!

I am surprised that the. Sony Xperia is not included in the worst phone list? Alright computer worst phone ever, I missed 95/100 phone calls either the ringer switched itself off or the answer button would not work! Also making call 99/100 would not connect or the number pad would not work, the worst phone ever
