Sony Ericsson Aspen early review: Call, text and tree-mail

Mobile World Congress 2010

Sony Ericsson says all its phones will meet the enviro-friendly GreenHeart standard in 2011, so you may want to hold off buying a Sony Ericsson Aspen for purely green reasons, unless the idea of a touchscreen Qwerty phone running Windows Mobile 6.5 really floats your boat. And if it does, that's one odd boat you're sailing, buddy.

The Aspen looks handsome, in a business-like way, but WinMo 6.5 isn't very touchscreen-friendly, and the small 61mm (2.4-inch) screen doesn't make it any easier on your fingers. There's a full Qwerty keyboard, however, and a traditional five-way function button that makes navigation possible, if not pleasurable.

We got our hands on the Aspen at last week's Mobile World Congress, so click 'Continue' to see more tree.
