Sky Movies joins Sky Go on iPhone and iPad

Sky Movies are on the iPhone and iPad. Sky Go, the on-demand service that lets you watch Sky when you're aht an' abaht now includes Sky's movie channels.

If you're a Sky customer you can now watch all 11 Sky Movies channels on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

The 11 movie channels are -- deep breath -- Sky Movies Action and Adventure, Sky Movies Classics, Sky Movies Comedy, Sky Movies Drama and Romance, Sky Movies Family, Sky Movies Indie, Sky Movies Modern Greats, Sky Movies Premiere, Sky Movies SciFi/Horror, Sky Movies Showcase and Sky Movies Crime and Thriller.

New releases you can fire up on your phone or tablet in coming weeks on Sky Go include Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, Black Swan, Gulliver's Travels and Limitless.

You can also watch older films on demand, whenever you want. Many are exclusive to Sky Movies, so other movie services can't show them. They include The Bourne Supremacy, Unbreakable, Calendar Girls, 8 Mile and the peerless Mean Girls.

To watch Sky Movies or Sky Sports on your iPhone or iPad you must have a Sky Movies or Sky Sports subscription, and you need a Wi-Fi connection. A 3G option is coming before the end of the year, for proper movies on the go wherever you are.

You can register two devices to watch Sky Go, whether they're your phone, laptop, tablet or games console. You can watch Sky Go on your Xbox 360 if you have an Xbox Gold Live subscription. Sky's sort-of-on-demand preview service Sky Anytime is also available on Virgin Media.

Rival movie-watching options include the excellent LoveFilm iPad app, with US service Netflix coming to the UK in 2012.

Is movie-watching on your phone and tablet the killer feature you've been waiting for? Will you sign up to Sky Movies specially? Tell us your thoughts in the comments or on our Facebook page.

I've been able to watch Sky Movies on my iPod touch for ages now. It's nothing new! Android should get a similar update, soon.
