Samsung Golden going for gold in November

The heat is on, the time is right, it's time for you, for you to play your game. 'Cause people are coming, everyone's trying, trying to be the best that they can, when they're going for, going for gold. We're talking the Samsung Golden, people.

The phone in question is the GT-i8190, but SamMobile reckons it's codenamed Golden. It's a bit of a mystery at present, but is expected to arrive before the end of the year -- never say never, ever.

The Samsung Golden is rumoured to have a measly 5-megapixel camera, but the rest of the specs are yet to emerge. It's expected to turn up in blue or white. No gold option, which is a missed trick in my humble opinion.

The Golden will be retitled with a rubbish proper name ahead of a rumoured launch in November. That release date leads us to wonder if it might be a Windows Phone, joining the Samsung Ativ line-up rather than the Android-powered Samsung Galaxy range.

The first Windows Phone 8 phone from Samsung is the Samsung Ativ S, which joins a line-up of Windows-powered Ativ kit including the Ativ Tab tablet and Ativ Smart PC laptop-cum-tablet thingy.

We'll keep you posted as we learn more about the Golden. On a related note, the Going for Gold theme tune was written by none other than Hans Zimmer, the chap who did the music for The Dark Knight Rises and Inception. He wasn't in Shed Seven, sadly.

Is Samsung going for, going for, going for gold? Tell me your thoughts in the comments or on our Facebook page.

WOAH, its a small world, what comes around goes around !! Comments on this page will become biased against Apple and Windows, and the Android fanboys will become crazy, I'm tempted to abandon this account and let you continue defending Apple. You actually do what you do really good.

Well you gotta be sad to set up the same username as someone because you disagree with their opinions but each to their own. I don't defend apple always I'm actually a big fan of windows mobile and will probably be my next

@damien2501 You know what I find sad, you slagging Android phones, making up ridiculous, childish excuses. And I agree Windows Phone is so under rated, I might get one too!!

And anonymous 29 September, 2012 15:30, My name has got a capital letter whereas the damien2501 you know doesn't. I'm an Android fanboy, but thought it was a good idea to create an account identical to damien, whose comments I disagree with. But this page would be dead without damien2501, so this is my last comment.
