Samsung gives away free Galaxy S to iPhone 4 complainers

@jammy1010 Hi James, we saw that you had problems with your iPhone 4. DM your contact details and we'll send you a free Galaxy S :) #GalaxySless than a minute ago via web

Sick of your iPhone 4 already? Then get on Twitter as fast as your fingers can type, because Samsung is giving away free Samsung Galaxy S smart phones to people who tweet their complaints about the Jesus phone.

Tweets from the Samsung UK twitter account indicate that complainers are getting the top of the line Android phone posted within a day of Samsung reading their complaints about the iPhone 4.

"We decided to contact a cross-section of individuals to offer them a free Samsung Galaxy S as a replacement, as we're confident that once people have the phone in their hands, they'll see how impressive it is for themselves," said Samsung in a statement.

It seems Samsung is taking advantage of the debate over the iPhone 4's signal problems, or antennagate, as we're not calling it, to raise the profile of its own smart-phone contender.

In our full review, we had some problems with the Galaxy S's flaky software, but we wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating biscuits. In fact, we loved the big 102mm (4-inch) Super AMOLED screen and the powerful Android operating system, so this isn't a phone that has to be free to be appreciated.

So get tweeting, and then let us know in the comments whether your tweams are fulfilled.

It would seem they're only sending them to people with lots of followers, i.e. more than my 10 .

Got very excited there for a second, alas my lack of internet fame has betrayed me :(

anon2 that was probably because you don't have many followers. They're trying to sway opinion against iphones and pro-galaxy s, and there's probably a minimum follower limit before they give you a free phone, as tweeting your complaints about the iphone 4 to 10 people won't help Samsung make any money.

Seems Matt is correct as they didn't even reply to my tweet. Admittedly I don't have any followers at all and only follow one person but I shouldn't be discriminated against! Might be a good bit of advertising but until you start sending phones to the tv channels only tech sites will be read and any word of mouth will be limited. If microsoft can afford to give a whole load of phones away samsung should be able to ;)

The Galaxy S is an awesome phone as long as you DO NOT need GPS! And you do not mind some lag from time to time! These problems are well documented across various forums and of course Samsung are 'deaf' to them.

The issue of antenna of iPhone4 expresses constitution of apple company. Mr. Steve Jobs should take the correct explanation and correspondence for a user. We cannot understand the correspondence of such a cheap tricks.

FYI, they've stopped giving them away. Twitter; "samsungukmobile They are all gone! We have no more #GalaxyS' to send. "

It would make no feasible sense for Samsung to give away a free, unlocked, £500+ RRP phone to somebody on Twitter with less than 500 followers, because your ability to influence the majority of people is pretty limited if you only have 10 people following you.

I also think they would have picked out people that have been complaining about their iPhone 4 for quite a while, as I could have tweeted about the problem on my iPod touch on the day of the giveaway and nobody would have been the wiser.

Also, you might want to get a better example of a tweet from Samsung to a user. The one in question doesn't own an iPhone at all, and didn't fill in the form that Samsung required.

Iphone4 is full of technology and new soft ware how ever this phone have few problems that may be its owner complain from it. in new LCD apple have used RETINA technology that it may lead to use a great dead of battery power and and I think this problem and antenna problem . plus unable to support of flash may cause I cancel my buying.
