Samsung Galaxy S3 leaked by Samsung?

A mysterious-lookin' mobile has popped up in a Samsung promotional video -- could the South Korean tech giant have accidentally leaked the fabled Galaxy S3?

The video, spotted by Italian blog Android HD, rounds up the best bits of the company's CES press conference in only 10 minutes (so many precious memories -- we'll never know how they managed to edit that one down). It shows the slim, unidentified phone being used by three on-trend youths to remotely control a Samsung digital camera.

But is it the S3? It looks extremely thin, with a curved back and a wider edge-to-edge display. In other words, it sounds exactly like the iPhone 5 that was supposed to arrive in the summer but never materialised.

But could it be a photoshopped Galaxy Note? Possibly. The size doesn't seem to make sense, but the following shot clearly shows a Galaxy S2 -- perhaps the mobile on-screen at that moment is just a render of something that looks phone-like.

That said, it's unusual for companies to miss a chance to show off their wares in promotional videos.

Whether or not this video shows the actual S3 of legend, it's certainly what we're expecting the next flagship Galaxy phone to look like -- it is a shiny black rectangle, after all. We're also expecting the S3 to arrive sporting a 720p display, and possibly some 3D tech as well.

Watch the video for yourself (we've embedded it below, the pertinent section is at just after 7 minutes), and let us know what you reckon in the comments, or on our Facebook wall.

HA, how can you compare phones that have not been released to the public yet!? I personally think its a photoshop job. Samsung like to have a giggle now and again and mislead even if it is only for their amusement.

....Apple on the other hand just like going to court over silly things i.e using the word 'phone', or the colour 'white' ....... ;o)

What am I expecting from the SGS3? Ok, given that I'm a SGS2 user, here's my wish/expectations list for the S3: All metal case. Super AMOLED Plus HD720 16/9 screen (but please NOT more than 4.5 inch), Quad Core CPU. 2GB of RAM. At least 32 GB of internal memory and support for 32Gb microSD. 16 MPx rear camera 1080p video. 2 or 3.2 front camera 720p video. Powerful BATTERY of at least 3000 mAh. FM transmitter. HDMI Cable. USB on the Go cable.Last but certainly not least: Android 4.0.x ICS with an updated and upgraded version of TouchWiz (otherwise without it!). In this case I wouldn't mind paying +£550 for it.

This is very unlikely the gs3 this phone has a physical button. The gs3 which will run ics will more than likely have onscreen buttons. Also for the idiots saying its an iphone 5 rip off where is there any proof apple has any phone like this in the making samsung have it in a video so if apple do come out with something similar then samsung have video evidence they were doing it 1st

Sorry to spoil the party but it is NOT the S3 ! - some people are blind.

1. The screen is superimposed on that image/video for demonstration purposes. - Companies do it all the time- for example with TV's adverts and demonstrations.

2. The Volume button, home button, Camera and earphone are in the EXACT same place and size as the S2.

3. The distance between the top of the phone to the screen and the bottom of the phone to the screen is not equal = super imposed image and if not shoddy design.

4. The rounded corners are exactly the same size and distance as the S2.

5. Samsung are not that stupid.

It is definitely the S3! The voices told me that :P
Anyway, my contract's gonna end in April so it would be great to have the S3 out by then. Atm I'm using an HTC Desire which was really good almost 2 years ago but there's nothing from HTC right now I'd like to have :( I'ts quite likely that the size of the S3 will be somewhere between the S2 and the Note, just with a better hardware and with ICS, of course - I'm really looking forward to getting it.

Only one thing Late8, im not disagreeing or agreeing with anyone but I do question why you think point 3 means anything. Why does a phone have to have the same distance to the screen from top and bottom ?

its crap.... earlier IPhone 5 was also release with a similar design...
