Samsung Galaxy S3, meet Jelly Bean. Jelly Bean, meet the Samsung Galaxy S3. The hottest update for the hottest phone around is rumoured to be taking place this month, as the popular Galaxy S3 is upgraded to the latest version of Android.
The Samsung fans at Sam Mobile report that the S3's Jelly Bean update is in the final stages of testing, and will be revealed on 29 August. That's the start of IFA, the annual European trade show where the world's tech manufacturers, distributors, press and general hangers-on gather in Berlin to eat sausages, quaff from steins, and fondle the best kit hitting shops for the rest of the year and beyond.
Samsung is expected to unveil a new Galaxy Note at IFA. CNET will have boots on the ground in Berlin to bring you the first and best news, previews and videos of the most exciting gadgets revealed, so don't go changin'.
Could we see some Jelly Bean action too? Word on the street is that the code for the Jelly Bean update is fully baked and has been submitted to Google for certification. When the big G gives the thumbs up, Samsung can start to push the update out to you and your S3.
It's unusual that no code has leaked yet, but we already know that security around the S3 is intense. One engineer who worked on designing the phone described the security as "torture" -- so that could extend to the Jelly Bean update too.
We don't blame Samsung for keeping tight-lipped about its plans. Let's hope the Jelly Bean update goes rather more smoothly than the last upgrade: Samsung announced a date for the Samsung Galaxy S2 to update to Ice Cream Sandwich but had to keep pushing that date back as the whole thing descended into farce. Fingers crossed that Samsung -- and the networks and manufacturers also involved in the process -- learn from that shambles.
Are you excited about Jelly Bean or is your S3 perfect as it is? Tell me your thoughts in the comments or on our Facebook page.

Although Jelly Bean will have good new features. This could be the day you say good bye to having Flash on your Android phone, if you upgrade that is :-).

That is why I said "could be".
But it good that Flash still works on you Galaxy Nexus, it means when my Galaxy S3 arrives. I should be able to use flash on it with Jelly Bean.

You can still download flash from the market anyhow. They're not developing it anymore but you can still download it from the playstore so it's all food for those anime websites and stuff :D

Adobe said in a statement:
Beginning August 15th we will use the configuration settings in the Google Play Store to limit continued access to Flash Player updates to only those devices that have Flash Player already installed. Devices that do not have Flash Player already installed are increasingly likely to be incompatible with Flash Player and will no longer be able to install it from the Google Play Store after August 15th.

Flash is of little concern now anyway, Adobe themselves have stated that its day is pretty much done.
Personally I'm more keen to see how well 'Project Butter' runs the S3's iteration of Touchwiz
And am hoping that Samsung will ditch the terrible S voice now that Google Now is on the scene.
Mostly though I'm just hoping Samsung don't pull they're usual firmware update trick and botch it up with continuous delays and poor communication.

From a Galaxy Nexus user - Jelly Bean is worth the upgrade. It all runs a lot smoother and is more polished.

Haha, here we go again! Who can remember the debacle that the release of ICS was????

Surely I'll have to wait for my network operator to mess about for a while. I'm with 3 and boy do they like to take their time, I'll be surprised if I see my galaxy s3 with jelly bean before Christmas.

You could try updating using Samsung Kiess on your pc to save waiting for your operator to push it out..
