Photos: iPhone celebrates its first birthday

At Macworld on 9 January 2007, a prototype of the newly announced Apple iPhone stands in a glass case for all to see. Apple stoked demand for the iPhone in the months following the January introduction with well-placed commercials, as well as instructional videos posted on its Web site on how to use the iPhone. The company also took advantage of unprecedented media coverage to ensure customers would line up in droves in late June.
