Nokia Lumia 620 is most colourful Windows Phone yet

Time for a phone that puts the lime in Lumia. The Nokia Lumia 620, announced today, is set to be the cheapest and most colourful Windows Phone 8 device yet.

The Lumia 620 sports a 3.8-inch screen with a resolution of 480x800, giving you a very respectable 246 pixels per inch. There's a 5-megapixel camera on the back and a front-facing camera for video calls.

Doing the grunt work is a dual-core Snapdragon S4 1GHz processor with an unimpressive 512MB of RAM. There's 8GB of storage for your music, movies and apps, but happily you can add up to 64GB with a microSD card.

Powered by Windows Phone 8, the little brother to the Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 includes a customisable home screen with resizing live tiles, as well as the City Lens augmented reality app and Cinemagraph and Smart Shoot camera features.

The phone comes in an array of pretty colours, including lime green, yellow and pink. Nokia offers interchangeable shells to change the look of your 620, including orange, green, turquoise and white. They come in matte or shiny finishes, and some are semi-translucent, so you can put different coloured shells on different coloured phones to create a rainbow of colour effects.

UK price has yet to be confirmed, but the new Nokia is expected to cost around $240 (£150) in the US. It goes on sale in Asia, the Middle East and Africa in January, to arrive in Europe "quickly" after that.

Great price. I am looking to go all prepaid next year so this would be a solid option.

Look at the waste of plastic under the 3 capacitive Windows Phone button...

Good specs! And the predicted price isn't too bad. Another option for those wanting Windows phone on a budget would be the 2011 Windows phones range, which are pretty cheap.

for £150 I'd go for it- android and IOS look too similar and windows looks like a breathe of fresh air (can't believe I said that- after using android for so many years and not having great experiences with earlier versions of windows mobile! Hopefully, the apps will start rolling in)

By the time it gets to Europe in Mid Q1 2013 it'll be old news. Why not just do a Global launch? and more importantly It would have been a great Christmas gift, but I guess the Nokia team missed the boat again. Come on Nokia, your close to getting good again.

A very good quality phone for the price!

Well made with interchangeable backs, perfect to change the colour of the phone or if it gets scratched.
Above average camera and a clear bright screen. The battery will last all day unless you use the phone heavily with games or surfing.
Windows 8 is easy to use, quick with no lag on the Nokia 620 and clean looking.
Defiantly the best low cost Windows phone on today's market, something to give the competition to think about.
