Nokia Flame incoming: 4-inch low-end Windows 8 blower

Nokia's just outed two Windows Phone 8 handsets this week, but now it looks like there's another incoming. The Lumia 920 is the high-end blower, the 820 is the mid-range, and now the forthcoming 'Flame' looks set to cover the low end, The Verge reports.

It says sources have tipped it off about the upcoming handset. The Flame (I'd expect that name to change to something more boring, with a number in it) is said to have a 4-inch screen and 5-megapixel camera. There's 512MB of RAM inside, along with a 1GHz dual-core processor and 4GB of storage.

So, pretty low-end. Though you will be able to expand that storage with a microSD card.

It's expected to cost about the same as the Lumia 610 and 710, and while the release date isn't concrete, around the beginning of 2013 is sounding likely.

It'll join the mid- to low-end Nokia Zeal (again, just a working title, though why they don't stick with them is a mystery to me). The Zeal is said to have a 4.3-inch screen, run Windows Phone 8, and have a 1GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, and 8GB storage. It's also thought to take design cues from the Microsoft Zune MP3 player, which could be pretty interesting.

Nokia lifted the lid on the Lumia 920 and 820 Windows Phone 8 smarties this week. The 920 will be the first Windows Phone 8 handset to hit the shops, and will have a PureView camera and wireless charging -- just rest it on a charging pillow to add some juice. It has a 4.5-inch screen made of curved glass that adjusts colour and light levels depending on your surroundings. The 820, meanwhile, is a 4.3-incher, with a dual-core processor and the same wireless charging.

What do you think of Nokia's Windows 8 line-up? Will you wait to see what else is on offer from HTC and Samsung before getting too excited? Let me know in the comments, or on Facebook.

Another option for those looking for a Nokia Windows phone on a budget, are the current generation of Windows phones on the higher end whose prices have been dramatically cut. It will definitely be a bargain, in the lead up to the release of Win 8 phones.

This is the one I'm waiting for! 820 and 920 too high end for me, I don't need too good of a camera on my phone when I carry my Canon PSS100 everywhere with me.

Zeal or Flame? I'll take whichever with the curved screen! Looking forward to more news!
