The ever-elusive Nexus 4 smart phone is back in stock in the UK, giving Brits another chance to snap up the quad-core masterpiece at Google's bargain price.
Right now if you spring to the Google Play website, you can buy the 8GB Nexus 4 for £239, or the 16GB option for £279. The much-desired smart phone is notorious for selling out almost instantly though, so you may need to act quickly.
The Nexus 4 won itself an Editors' Choice award in our review, where we praised its mind-expanding quad-core power, gorgeous 768x1,280-pixel display and staggeringly generous price.
It also comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the latest and greatest version of Google's operating system that brings entertaining features like Photo Sphere. Because there's no manufacturer-imposed extra software you should be first in line for fresh software updates, too.
It's a great smart phone whichever way you slice it, but the Nexus 4's heroic debut has been marred by stock problems, that saw the phone sell out within just 30 minutes of going on sale. More units were scraped together for another round of selling in early December, but within 24 hours there were barely any phones left to buy, angering would-be shoppers.
Unpredictable delivery times have also proved troublesome for those who manage to buy. LG told me the stock problems were down to huge demand, suggesting Google may have underestimated the popularity of its latest Nexus smart phone.
You can still buy the Nexus 4 via operators like O2 or Three, but you won't get Google's mega-discount price.
Meanwhile a white version of the Nexus 4 has been spotted online, amid rumours that a sequel may already be in the works.

i added it to cart at 3.02pm but it cancelled the order due to technical issues, luckily all my details had saved so i simply tried again and i placed an order, i think they have a generous amount of stock this time.

Ordered at 3.04 pm, had same crash when I entered address but suddenly came up with an order confirmation page and money has gone out of my account so "fingers crossed" Gave me a delivery estimate of 2 days!! Will believe that if and when it arrives!

Just bought it, finally. Shipping time is 1-2 weeks. For anyone thinking of getting one, you'll likely be able to get an unused one on ebay, meaning you won't have to wait 1-2 weeks for it to arrive. I'd been trying to get hold of one, but they've been going for £350-£400. There are still quite a few listed that are currently under £250, and now that the phone's back in stock on the Play store, bids shouldn't go too far above Google's price. They may cost you a bit more because of the reduced waiting time though.

I can't believe it! Finally gave up waiting yesterday and accepted another phone my network was offering as an upgrade. YESTERDAY!! I may still order the Nexus 4 and see if I can cancel my upgrade. The Nexus 4 is the only current phone I like the look of.

Actually ordered mine off eBay about 2 weeks ago, fell out with seller and got money back just in time to buy off play store. Luck found a way to save me some money. Now I'm smiling real big and smug. Snatched me a 16GB with a bumper for a £100 less that the sellers price. Whoop Whoop!!

It said delivery would be 1-2 weeks and now when I look in the 'orders' section of the Play site it says "Estimated shipping date 13th February". Gives me bit of lazy time to sort out my micro-sim. Excellent!

I managed to get my order placed 34 seconds after 3pm. I wake up this morning to find that my phone has been shipped and is already on a delivery truck! Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to be getting my phone less than 24 hours after ordering. I will say one thing; my work colleague ordered his about a minute after mine and his order is still pending.
