LG is planning to release an over-the-air update for the Optimus 2X later this month, in a bid to fix the smart phone's software flaws.
That'll come as good news to the 790 owners of the phone who've signed an online petition urging LG to do something about the bugs, which make the 2X randomly freeze and reboot.
European users will be first to receive the update, with Americans next in line.
The 2X was one of the first phones to pack in a dual-core processor. Its chip should make the interface and apps snappy and responsive -- if only the software would just behave itself. Indeed, we pitted the 2X against several other dual-core smart phones last month, and found that it was let down by its flaky software.
There's no good reason for LG's phone to perform sluggishly, despite the fact it's still running the problematic Android 2.2 Froyo. If this software update doesn't drastically improve matters, there are going to be some very cross users beating a path to LG's door.

Its as I said in previous posts when this phone was first spotted.
Another great idea from LG but you just know its going to have serious design fault somewhere.
.................................................Surprise..............The fault this time was the phone itself............................
Once you have an LG you will never have one again.
