LG L7, L5 and L3 Android mobiles ape the Prada Phone

MWC 2012

LG has pulled back the curtain (which I'm guessing is made of velvet with gold sequins) on three new Android handsets that follow in the high-heeled footsteps of its recent Prada Phone.

The L series consists of the L3, L5 and L7. They'll be on show at Mobile World Congress next week, but we've got the specs right here.

The L7 has a 4.3-inch screen, while the L5 has a 4-incher. They both run Android Ice Cream Sandwich, joining the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The L3, meanwhile, is a little lower specced, with a 3.2-inch screen, and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

All three look great though, featuring LG's L-style 'design identity'. The screen looks like it's floating above the device. A similar trick is used on Samsung's OLED tellies, though good luck getting one of those in your pocket.

LG claims they'll all feel thinner than they actually are, and they'll have a metallic design, with leather-esque back panels. In other words, LG is sticking with the fashion schtick.

The L3 should be here in March, with the others expected some time in the first half of the year.

The Prada Phone by LG 3.0 -- to use its full name -- isn't the usual overpriced mobile with a fashion label attached, like some tie-in handsets. It's actually a pretty decent device, so I have high hopes for the L series.

LG is keeping the rest of the specs under cover, but rest assured, CNET UK's crack team will be on hand at MWC to bring you all the details. For more, check out mwc.cnet.co.uk.

Sorry about the photo with this story, by the way. As you know, we're not fans of booth babes here at CNET UK, but this is the picture LG released.

What do you think of the L Series? Let me know in the comments below, or on our Facebook page.

Look like great phones. Hope they are better than the pre-android LG phones in terms of durability and touch sensitivity.
