Leaked parts that will supposedly feature in Apple's new iPhone have been assembled, with eager tinkerers reporting that the acquired bits and bobs fit together 'perfectly'.
iResQ screwed the leaked repair parts together, BGR reports, attaching the rumoured smaller docking connector and headphone jack to the phone's taller rear casing. Check out one more snap below.

As well as giving us a new peek at the iPhone 5's headphone socket, which has been moved to the bottom of the phone, the site reports that "all of the threading and screw holes lined up perfectly," lending yet more credence to the slew of leaked components that have emerged over the last few months.
Comparing the assembled iPhone 5's underside, you can see the difference in size between the current 30-pin charging port and the teeny tiny one that's expected to adorn Apple's next smart phone.
While I've learned not to place too much faith in leaked components or blurry snaps, the mountain of matching evidence on this much-anticipated gadget is certainly persuasive. Based on leaked parts, photos and video, I'd say that at this point a taller iPhone with a 4-inch display is about as certain as unconfirmed gadgets can get.
There are secrets still to be revealed, in particular what kind of processor will be powering Apple's next plaything, and whether the bumped-up screen size will make room for an extra row of homescreen icons.
Apple's tipped to make an iPhone-flavoured announcement on 12 September, which is just over three weeks away. Stay tuned folks, and in the meantime let me know whether you'll be queuing up for the iPhone 5 or lining your pockets with an Android mobile instead. The comments or our Facebook wall are the places to have your say, and while you're here why not take a look at our iPhone 5 predictions video below.

Bring on all the Apple haters with their bitter angry comments

I can't wait for this phone. So far i really like what im seeing. I see there is big change with the headphone socket location and bigger speaker holes, So i hope they have improved the audio quality too. After all this is also a iPod, so it should have HD quality audio.

Screw Apple. Android is the future. Apple just regurgitate their products, forcing good honest people to dish out their hard earned money on new generations of their crappy products.

Oooooooo a headphone socket. The way Cnet and the rest of the web hang on every petty little leak from Apple grates. Every tuny bit of phone is continuously combed over and sycophantically aplauded.
Incidentally Damien if you thin a friggin phone is so important that people become "bitter" then you should get a grip on reality eh? Iean it's just a phone.
Grow up.
Grow up.

@damien why bitter? because of the smaller dock connector?

"Screw Apple. Android is the future. Apple just regurgitate their products, forcing good honest people to dish out their hard earned money on new generations of their crappy products"
Love it, so when BMW bring out a new 3 series or VW the mark 7 Golf is that forcing me to to buy one... Really come on, its a new model, lots of companies do it, it's kinda how they make money and then bring out new technology and gadgets. If they didn't I'd still be using a ZX Sectum playing Horace goes ski-ing on my 40 inch 1080P LED flat screen..
I have an iPhone, it works, it does what I need it to do and I'll prob buy an iPhone 5 cos it will work again, everyone has the choice. If you dont like it dont buy it... simples...

Got to skip this one since my employer pays and I have to use a phone two years before getting a new one. So I guess it's the iPhone 6 for me.
damien2501 21 August, 2012 13:29
Love it how people take time out of their lives to write a really bitter comment about a phone and then say. You obviously think a phone is important enough to get bitter over. Actions speak louder than words my friend ;)

My eye side is going down, and I think it's because 3.5 inch screen on 4s,new iOS 6- half copied from android I believe, can't wait for galaxy note 2.What Apple could produce without Samsung parts, and this strips on new model will look SH.T....Only camera is good that all.

How can I judge which phone I'll be buying if I don't even know what the iPhone's going to be like? Pointless poll if you ask me.
anonymous 21 August, 2012 14:53
woo! My 21st birthday is the day they announce it. So new motorcycle and a switch from shitty android? It's going to be a great month.
anonymous 21 August, 2012 15:38
I will stay with Android!!!! Apple makes a good product, but their ethics suck.
anonymous 21 August, 2012 15:44
Only a nutter would move the headphone socket to the bottom!
anonymous 21 August, 2012 15:55
I can't wait to get my hands on one - I'm just overwhelmed by how much easier an extra row of icons is going to make my life and I was just looking for an excuse to buy a completely new load of peripherals. I just don't know HOW I have been managing to get buy with customisable homescreens and widgets all this time.
anonymous 21 August, 2012 17:02
Beautiful can't wait!!!!
anonymous 21 August, 2012 17:04
Only a nutter would think the best place for a headphone socket is at the top!
Anyway, apple make great phones and so do android. We don't all drive ford focuses do we? But we all appreciate cars for what they are designed to do. All phones do the same thing, just boils down to personal preference.
anonymous 21 August, 2012 17:52
apple just refinishes the same product with a new look. there way far behind when it comes to what is powering the phone. as in (cpu, ram ect)
Gary Blake Thompson 21 August, 2012 19:11
I personally do strongly dislike apple in general, but that doesn't mean I should go hate on their GOOD products. Seriously, I have looked through the comments on this and have found NO good reasons why the iPhone is apparently horrible (Though I can point out it is a bit expensive)... Why don't you apple haters just shut the f*** up because honestly, nobody gives a f*** what you think.
anonymous 22 August, 2012 04:23
OMG OMG OMG!!!! They moved the headphone port!! And, it's a whole 1/2 inch BIGGER!
Hate all you want, but THAT is innovation in action people!! I hope they patented the headphone port position - Apple really need to protect that one!!! It's ACE!!!
I Can't wait to see what shade of grey they use!!!
damien2501 22 August, 2012 11:46
Dont know why the Android fanboys are out in force we got all this with the samsung galaxy s3. It was like, its going to be shaped like a crappy pebble thing, its going to need the components of a frigging supercomputer to just run the latest android for 1 update.
anonymous 22 August, 2012 13:05
Damien, I'm not a fanboy of either, but I think I speak for the majority when I say "Shut the hell up" to both you and other child-like people here, both Android and iPhone fans alike are behaving like friggin idiots these days! If you like the new iPhone, buy it, if you like the S3, buy it, it's choice!!! I'm beginning to wonder if people realise they have one and are not forced to buy a product because a review posts about it.
Geeeez....
anonymous 23 August, 2012 18:30
I'm getting the iphone for my birthday :)
( October 6th )!!!!!! Can't wait=D
