HTC Ville looks city slick in new leaked photos

MWC 2012

The HTC Ville has popped up in a set of new photos, following a recent video leak that saw the new smart phone's specs and design exposed.

These snaps come via a site called ePrice, but we'd bet our buttons these are snaps of the same device that's visible in the earlier leak video (which we've embedded below) -- the desk in the background looks the same, as does the lip of the keyboard that's sat just above the Ville.

Nevertheless, these snaps are a lot clearer than that grainy video, and give us a clearer view of the Ville itself. We're expecting HTC's new toy to arrive packing a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display, along with an 8-megapixel camera around the back and a 1.5GHz dual-core processor lurking on the inside.

Impressive specs, but the real treat is Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest version of Android, backed up by what looks like a new version of HTC Sense.

HTC Sense is one of the better Android skins out there, so we're excited to see what a refreshed version can do when glued on to some cutting-edge Android.

These new snaps also show the Ville from the side, giving a better look at its slim profile. HTC isn't known for making thin phones, so we're keen to get our hands on this one.

We're expecting to see the Ville in the flesh at Mobile World Congress, a big trade show that kicks off at the end of February. HTC is also expected to unveil a quad-core mobile, known as the HTC Edge.

transition effects look draft, kind of like wp7 but not as nice, hardware looks the same as all HTC phones. Nothing new, nothing special.

I've been a fan of Sense on pre-3.0 versions of Android, but the interface on here doesn't seem to be an improvement on stock ICS. The hardware isn't much to look at here, either.

@David Wormley my guess is that HTC is planning to start from scratch. This could be just a framework and they will build from this.
