Fancy getting a new sense? Sadly not telepathy, or the ability to sense when an advert break is about to end as you fast-forward a recorded TV programme, but a preview of HTC Sense and Ice Cream Sandwich on the HTC Sensation or HTC Sensation XE.
HTC is planning a limited preview of HTC Sense for Android 4.0. If you have the Sensation or XE you'll be able to see the new-look Sense interface early.
The preview will be available to a very small number of Sensorites in Europe. We've contacted HTC for more information about who's going to be involved, and when the update will happen.
There's no mention of the HTC Sensation XL, so it looks like owners of the oversized phone will have to wait. But not for long: the XL is next in line to update to Ice Cream Sandwich soon.
The update is also promised this year for the HTC Evo 3D, HTC Incredible S, HTC Desire S and HTC Desire HD.
Phone-builders often add their own front end to Android to add extra features and highlight their own apps. The downside of that is that it makes it harder to get updates out to every phone: even when Google releases an update, it can't reach your phone until the phone-makers have adjusted their front-end to cope with their changes, often a time-consuming process. The boss of Motorola recently added that the various different types of phone in different countries also slowed updates.

Are you a Sensation owner? Will your Senses be working overtime, or would you rather stick with what you know? Tell me your thoughts in the comments or on the Facebook page.

Had ICS on my rooted Sensation for ages. Also was able to make it into a Sensation XE with Beats!

@ anon 1
that is the most retarded reason to switch. Does a new software update on another phone instantly make yours useless?

@ billfred I have to agree while having to wait's very annoying it's not as if the current version of Android's not already very good and it's the version you bought your phone with so you must have already been happy with it.
