HTC ChaCha, Desire S and Wildfire S set for Vodafone, T-Mobile and Orange

HTC made waves with its new ChaCha, Wildfire S and Desire S smart phones yesterday at Mobile World Congress, but which operators will be selling them in the UK? So far Vodafone, T-Mobile and Orange have all confirmed plans to carry the new Android devices when they launch here.

As for release dates, Orange says it'll have all three phones in the second quarter of this year, while T-Mobile and Vodafone steered clear of promising even that. Let's just say you should be able to plonk down some cash for the HTC handsets by June and have done with it.

There isn't much more news: suffice to say all the networks have warm words to say about HTC's new crop of smart phones. That said, we're intrigued by the omission of the HTC Salsa from their post-unveiling press releases. It's due to be available alongside the ChaCha, but for now at least appears to be off the operators' radars.

The HTC ChaCha (pictured) is a social-messaging handset with a Qwerty keyboard and a built-in Facebook button for sharing. It has a 2.6-inch screen and a fairly un-ninja (by current Android standards) 600MHz processor.

The HTC Desire S is a more powerful touchscreen device with a 1GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera and 3.7-inch screen. Finally, the HTC Wildfire S is a more affordable model with a 3.2-inch screen, 5-megapixel camera and 600MHz processor.

All three devices run the latest version of Android, 2.4 Gingerbread. None of the operators have announced pricing details for any of the handsets.

Do o2 have a dislike for HTC out of interest, the Desire Z and HD never came to the network and they haven't confirmed these either....
