BlackBerry Bold 9000: RIM does HSDPA

We try not to fall in love with products before we've actually held them, but we're finding it difficult to not get a little emotional about RIM's new handset, the BlackBerry Bold 9000.

This seductive device isn't just something to make a business user swoon: it's something all of us will want. HSDPA (3.5G), Wi-Fi and GPS are just a few of its enticing acronyms.

Similar to the BlackBerry 8800, the Bold has a full Qwerty keypad and a rollerball so you can flick through your emails or contact list with speed. Combine the keyboard with a large 480x320-pixel display and you've got one hot tamale.

You also get a 3.5mm headphone jack that lets you plug in a pair of standard headphones. This means you don't need to mess around with adaptors or use the awful proprietary headphones that come with so many handsets.

Our only disappointment in this sexy beast is its meagre 2-megapixel camera. Hopefully, it's as good as the iPhone's. We'll find out if it fulfills out heart's desires when it launches around mid-June -- expect more info, pics and drooling then. -Andrew Lim
