Fed up of trawling app stores and bloating your homescreens with unnecessary icons in search of the perfect app? We feel your pain -- which is why we have created a sparkling new video app review show: Appy Days!
In this first episode, Amie Parker-Williams dons her sweats and scuttles through the busy streets of London town to put three popular fitness apps through their paces.
The first app in our trial is iMapMyRun, which offers some interesting social features so you can share tips with your gym buddies, and is available for free on iPhone, Android and BlackBerry.
We also take a look at RunKeeper, another freebie that has workout options for a whole host of different activities and is available on iPhone, Android, Windows Phone and Nokia S60.
Our third app of choice is Nike+ GPS, which is iPhone-only and has a price tag of £1.49. Despite these obvious shortcomings, it does come equipped with some special extras, such as the ability to play a power ballad for a motivational boost if you run out of puff mid-workout, or the option to play a game of tag with your friends.

Have to give RunKeeper a try, I currently use Nike+ but it's a bit annoying that you can't enter a run manually

For alternative app to the Nike one on Android you might want to consider Runstar (which will also tie in with RunKeeper in terms of data) as it also has the power ballad for a motivational boost.
