Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 lands February 2010 in UK

Mobile Phones

"The Xperia X10 could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship for Sony Ericsson and the little green robot," said our main -- and, to be fair, only -- girl, Flora, when she checked out Sony Ericsson's Android-powered Xperia X10 phone earlier this month. And now, it seems we have a release schedule.

According to Sony Ericsson's official online store in the UK, the Xperia X10 will be available in February 2010. Previously we only knew it would launch in Q1 2010.

Let's recap. This is Son Eric's 8.1-megapixel Android effort. It features all the usual smart phone perks, including quad-band GSM connectivity, HSDPA Internet, GPS, Wi-Fi, plus a 102mm (4-inch) touchscreen running at 854x480 pixels, all running atop a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU.

The only bone of contention is that it'll purportedly run Android 1.6 -- not the next 2.0 version -- which could immediately label it as dated as soon as it's released.

Until we know more, don't miss Flora's extremely early hands-on with the X10 from earlier this month.
