Just the other day, Microsoft announced that the first batch of smart phones running Windows Mobile 6.5 will launch on 6 October. One such phone will be the HTC Touch2.

The Touch2 will also include a revamped version of Internet Explorer Mobile with Flash support, the Windows Marketplace for Mobile app store, and Microsoft's My Phone backup service. As part of HTC's Touch series, the smart phone will also use the company's TouchFlo 3D interface and include the touch-sensitive zoom bar that we first saw on the Touch Pro2 and the Touch Diamond2.

Other features of the Touch2 include a 71mm (2.8-inch) QVGA touchscreen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and quad-band world roaming. The device has a 3.2-megapixel camera, 512MB ROM/256MB RAM, and a microSD card slot.

The Touch2 will be available in some markets on 6 October, although the company was very vague about which will get it on that date. It said the smart phone will be broadly released in European and Asian markets early in the fourth quarter, but pricing wasn't mentioned.
