The best Android apps
Weather Widget and Retro Clock Widget
We're British, and that means we want to know what the weather is like now, what it will be like for the next 100 years and what it was like in 200BC. The free Weather Widget can at least help with the first desire.
This beautiful little widget sits on your home screen, telling you what you can expect to fall on you from the heavens. Give it a little tap, and you get a forecast for the next three days too, all presented in the same lovely style. Registering has some benefits, and, as it costs about 90p to do so, it's hardly expensive.
Like the Weather Widget, the free Retro Clock Widget is designed as a widget, rather than a full-on app. It sits on your home screen, and tells you the time and date. It's not sophisticated, but we think it looks pretty awesome.
An added advantage is that it also offers shortcuts to both the alarm clock and calendar functions of Android, which means you can easily set alarms or add appointments to your Google calendar -- all from the home screen. It's truly perfect in every way.
