Palm has officially announced what the US has been waiting to hear: an official release date and pricing for the Palm Pre. The Pre will be available in the States on 6 June for $200 (£130) with a two-year contract and after a $100 (£65) mail-in rebate.

Accessories for Palm's webOS-based smart phone will also be available in the US on 6 June, including the Touchstone Charging Kit (Touchstone dock and Touchstone back cover), which will retail for $70 (£45). Alternatively, the dock and back cover will be available separately for $50 (£32) and $20 (£13) respectively.

As for us in the UK, there's still no formal announcement on when the Pre will make it here, nor which network it will appear on, but we will keep you updated with any news.
