Samsung Tocco Lite: Got a Lite, boy?

Mobile Phones
Touchscreens for the masses! That's our election manifesto, and Samsung is obliging with the launch of the new Tocco Lite, a phone for those of us feeling a little lite in the pockets.

Samsung has already jazzed up the popular Tocco with the launch of the Tocco Ultra, and the Tocco Lite smartly rounds out the range. It's targeted at social-media obsessives, with Facebook, MySpace and YouTube widgets for easy access on the home screen. But there's no 3G, so heavy-duty surfing is out.

The Tocco Lite will sport a 3-megapixel camera with smile and face detection, which also shoots QVGA video. It'll include an FM radio and 50MB of on-board memory, expandable up to 8GB with a microSD card.

We think the Tocco Lite should be a very tempting bargain -- although there's no price or network availability details yet -- especially as, at only 12mm thick, it has the same sexy form-factor of the original Tocco.
