HTC Magic out today in Spain: Scorchio!
Behold the Magic of Spain! Don't worry, you haven't accidentally pointed your browser at an asinine tourism site. No, this is Crave reporting on the apparent surprise launch of the Android-powered HTC Magic smart phone in Spain, a full week earlier than the rest of the world.
The news was announced in a post on the Spanish Vodafone blog, which Google helpfully -- if wonkily -- translates for us.
We'll hold off on the magic-related puns since we used most of them when the Magic debuted at Mobile World Congress in February. The Magic uses the Android operating system, and packs an 81mm (3.2-inch) touchscreen and 3.2-megapixel camera, in a frame 14mm thick.
Vodafone Spain's pricing for the HTC Magic is from €19 (£17) to €199 (£180), depending on which tariff you choose. Monthly tariffs range from €21 to €62 on an 18-month contract.
UK pricing is yet to be confirmed, but Crave has been invited by Vodafone to get up close and personal with the Magic tomorrow. We've already handled a prototype and even scored a hands-on video, and a full in-depth review is heading your way faster than Debbie McGee down a hidden trapdoor.
