Modu phone jackets: Slip into something more functional Image 1
Mobile Phones

You might remember Modu from last year's Mobile World Congress coverage. The Israeli company makes a tiny modular mobile phone that can be inserted into one of several 'jackets' to become a fully functional phone with real controls. Each jacket -- really just a handset shell -- offers a different design and feature set. You can change them at will to match your mood and needs.

Modu will be showing four new jackets next week at this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Shown above is the Modu phone. It's tiny -- smaller than a credit card, in fact -- but offers 2GB of internal memory, Bluetooth, a new user interface and the ability to make calls. Once you slip it into one of the jackets shown over the next few pages, it takes on a whole new persona.
