Mobile Phones

Maggie Reardon reports from New York City on Nokia's new baby phone (congratulations -- it's a touchscreen!), the N97. This stylish headset features an easy-to-use slideout Qwerty keypad and is seen as Nokia's key contender against other smartphones, such as the iPhone.

The N97 boasts a capacious amount of storage -- a whopping 32GB with the option of adding on an additional 16GB. It also has a 5-megapixel camera with dual LED photo lights, can take DVD-quality video, and comes with assisted GPS, HSDPA, Wi-Fi and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

This phone is obviously designed for people who stay in touch via online messaging or social networking sites. With just a few clicks, the N97 allows you you fast access to Facebook and MySpace, among others, and features integration with messaging clients such as Windows Live and Yahoo. You can also personalise your home screen, using the touchscreen to drag and drop items, rearranging them to your liking.

The Nokia N97 will be available globally in the first half of 2009.
