It's been almost a year since 29 June 2007, that frenzied day the iPhone went on sale in America. Here, we give you a pictorial of some of the highs and lows of the smart phone's first year in the hands of consumers.
Apple had gotten things rolling a few months earlier. On 9 January 2007, on stage at Macworld in San Francisco, CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone and touted its functionality, describing the gadget as the 'ultimate' digital device. It immediately drew the attention of potential customers and competitors as a breakthrough in the way people use mobile computers.
