HTC P3470: Hands-on with HTC's new navigation phone
Tags: htc, navigation, handset, windows mobile
Phones and sat-navs make attractive partners, which is probably why everyone's combining the two. These combos are being offered up like burgers and chips, and they'll help you make phone calls and get around town.
HTC's latest sat-nav phone is called the P3470. Catchy, we know. It keeps things simple design-wise with a smooth black casing, large touchscreen and navigation wheel at the bottom.
We weren't doing any celebratory back-flips upon picking it up but it does what it's supposed to. If you're looking for a Windows Mobile device with navigation capabilities, then it's worth investigating.
TomTom's Navigator software is pre-installed on the P3470, so you won't need to buy additional software -- it'll simply work as a sat-nav straight out of the box.
Disappointingly, the HTC P3470 doesn't have HSDPA (3.5G) or Wi-Fi, which means Web browsing on the go will be a drag. We assume that HTC decided on this so that they could bring the price of the handset down. Click on the next page for more pictures. -Andrew Lim
