O2 XDA Stellar: O2 takes on the TyTN II
Tags: o2, windows mobile, htc, tytn
Given HTC's ability to pump out quality Windows Mobile devices, it's no surprise that all the networks wanted to get their hands on the smashing HTC TyTN II. O2 is the latest, and has branded it up with a subtle small white logo and a blue wallpaper on the start page. Very tasteful.
All the features are there, including GPS, Wi-Fi and HSDPA (3.5G). Little has been done to the interface, although you'll notice that the HTC big clock theme isn't there.
The cost of the O2 XDA Stellar ranges from free if you pay over £50 a month (on an 18-month contract) to £90 if you pay £35 a month (also 18 months). Unfortunately, those tariffs don't include mobile data, which will cost an additional £7.50 a month for 200MB.

I'm really dissapointed mine didn't come with the SatNav Software like my Orbit did. I'm therefore hoping for a recommendation on what software to use for this - if anyone has any tips please let me know.

My xda stellar is going back. I was showing a friend how to setup an internet mail account when my xda took over and opened up several other apps without me pressing a thing. Later I tried to bring it off standby but couldn't. Had to remove battery to restart. During a phone call the screen turns off (as you'd expect) which stops you being able to enter numbers on the keypad and touch screen. I managed to get the screen back by pressing the "green ringer" button but that put the call on hold. I was then unable to select "unhold" from the menu even though the option was enabled. The phone does have some good features but I've only had the phone a week and have already encountered enough problems to not want it any longer.

Having upgraded almost reluctantly from my trusty Mini S I find the XDA Stellar superb in every way. The key factor for me was the supplied software for Blackberry Connect (like the Mini S). This is an underrated feature which enables the Stellar to knock spots off a Blackberry handset.
