Sneak peek: HTC P3600

Mobile Phones

Here at the Crave hideout we've been lucky enough to get our hands on the HTC P3600, one of the coolest Windows Mobile 5.0 devices we've seen so far. It's similar to the Orange SPV M600 and is not only small but light.

The P3600 comes in an iPod-esque plastic white casing and weighs 141g, which is 10g less than the M600. It measures 58mm wide by 108mm tall by 18mm deep, and it feels very comfortable to hold.

The P3600 has a large 240x320-pixel colour touchscreen that measures 44mm wide by 59mm tall and displays 65k colours. The large display can be used in landscape mode, which comes in particularly handy when you're using the tri-band 3G, quad-band GPRS, HSDPA or Wi-Fi to browse the Web.

Other features include Bluetooth 2.0 and infrared connectivity. There's also a 2-megapixel camera for taking still photos and videos, and a secondary VGA one on the front for video calls.

The P3600 runs on a 400MHz Samsung 2442 processor with 64MB RAM and 128MB flash memory, and it houses an expandable miniSD slot for extra storage space. The HTC P3600 should be available some time before Christmas and we're almost certain that network operators will have their own re-branded versions some time soon too. Expect a full review shortly. -AL
