Orange M3100, T-Mobile MDA Vario II and the Vodafone Qtek HTC v1605

A few months ago HTC invited us to the launch of two new handsets -- the HTC MTeoR and the HTC TyTN. It also launched its own commercial brand, aptly called HTC, with a funky new logo. However, HTC explained that it would continue to provide UK networks with branded versions of its phones, such as the O2 XDA Exec and the Orange SPV M600, in addition to selling their own handsets.

After having a play with the TyTN it was clear that this feature-packed beast would be picked up by the networks faster than a pound coin in Trafalgar Square. It features tri-band 3G, GPRS, HSDPA (aka Super 3G), quad-band EDGE, USB, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, so you can stay connected wherever you are. So far three networks have rebranded the TyTN, calling it the Orange M3100 (pictured right), Vodafone Qtek HTC v1605 (pictured centre) and the T-Mobile Vario II (pictured left).

The three handsets are essentially the same on the inside, but feature different details on the casing and different-styled keys on the front of the phone. What really distinguishes one rebranded TyTN from the other is the network tariff you buy it on -- different tariffs cater for different needs. However, this device is designed for connecting to the Internet, so any offer that allows unlimited Web browsing is advisable.
