Sneak peek: LG U400 music phone

I very much like the idea of a phone with a scoll wheel, in fact i seen that LG have made one similar to the super-sweet Chocolate phone. I'll be looking forward to that due to the pictures i've seen.

p.s Ive read an article that Korea have had a white chocolate phone for some time and i would like to find out if it will be coming over here .

Carphone have announced that the white chocolate phone is coming soon to them. Go to www.carphonewarehouse.com and click "coming soon" on the left. It should appear there. Good luck!

Is it just me or is the wheel scroll function on this phone not the best. Sometimes one scroll of the wheel will move several items on the menu, at other times it won't move any! While its a great idea in principle, I'm not sure about LGs implementation of it!!

Can someone please, please, please help me with something. I bought this phone (it's really cool)and I can't get the thing to work with the computer. I want to be able to hook it up and put some of my music onto my phone but I just can't. I need help. Who knows what to do? The software isn't working properly. Please someone help me with this.

I got this LG U400 yesterday following a brief play in the shop. PROS: the funky scroll wheel, works well, takes a bit of getting used to (quite sensative), also clarity of MP3 playback is good. Loads of shortcuts for everything looks and works well. CONS: Camera is very poor, takes FOREVER to load tracks and vids onto the memory and mini sd cards. It seems every button links you to a service which costs extra. You get no included content or games, it all costs extra. the phone refuses to display jpeg files?? and struggled or refused to accept files from my old phone. I will be changing this phone if i can asap. these things may not bother some people but i think the software needs tweaking - a lot.

Have had this phone for 2 days now.... got a great deal on internet; loads of texts and mins included on a 12 month contract and 12 months free line rental !! Can't get much better than that.
I love this phone, it looks good and the wheel it makes scrolling much easier. Very easy to use and simple to load all your tracks from PC to phone. (Just install the mini disc that is provided and use the 'LG my DJ'. Connect phone to PC (with lead supplied) and right click on main library - 'add folder' or 'file', then it opens a window to browse your PC content, select what you need and once this has appeared in the window, select track/tracks and press button at bottom of screen to transfer to phone - hope this helps!)
Sound quality is great and 1GB memory card makes it easy to use as MP3 player. (£25 on ebay) Having played with it for 2 days the phone is easy to use - The user guide however, is not always easy to follow and could have been written much more clearly.
They do not explain how to download music from PC... maybe they prefer you to purchase their music!!
Video calling is new to me and good fun, memory expansion is very handy,it has loads of style and very easy to use.....have already ordered a second one for my daughter

i´ve seen many pics of the "lg u400 music phone" in internet, but there is no publication date for it in germany...so can anybody help me, finding this handy without a contract in uk or usa???

Hi i jus purchased the phone yesterday, im having trouble using it, it seems quite confusing, does anyone know how i can take a picture without the camera making a sound, basically i want the sound to be on silent wen im taking a picture, but the phone doesnt seem to be giving me an option to do this, can anyone please help?

Hi, You cannot turn off the "Camera Sound" Due to reasons such as Taking photos without people knowing and or in private areas! the reason for this is because there have been some major issues with "sick people" doing the wrong thing with this featue! The USB problem.. it isnt really a problem at all just a setup prob, the usb is auto set via the computer so you just need to mess around with the ports to enable it to work try restarting and reconnecting phone.. it will work and allow you to put all the music you want on it!

Just done this for my mate now, this is what i done...

Plug the Lgu400 into your pc via the usb lead, install all the stuff on the Cd that comes with it, now on windows XP it will ask you if you want Ms (microsoft) to search for drivers for you, alow it, it installs like 7-10 drivers one after each other, keep installing them untill they stop...

Load the My Dc Lg thing, now your phone should connect to the DJ and you can transfer your music

I have just got the Lg u400 and when i try to use the camara feature the message 'no resorce available' come up. can anyone tell me how to get about this problem so i can use the camara. thanks

I had this phone for 2 weeks, still cannot find how to end a call using the slider. Can see that some else has posted the same problem too!!. It seems to end a call 1 out of 10 times!!, rest of the time,it just does not bother!!

Has anybody have an idea about if the video camera quality can be made any better? Even the super fine settings is absolutely shitty! I used to have Nokia 6280 and u400 video quality is incomparable to it! Thanks for any ideas.
