Yesterday was the one-year anniversary of Steve Jobs' death. Now, following Apple's tribute video to its founder, one Hong Kong artist is selling Jobs-themed MacBook Pros for charity, CNET reports in the US.
The laptops feature Jobs' silhouette encroaching on a white Apple, mimicking the bite taken out of the company logo. They were designed by Jonathan Mak, a Honk Kong-based artist who made the image last year in Jobs' honour.
They also feature the following quote from Jobs from 1995: "When you grow up you tend to get told that the world is the way it is, and your life is just to live your life inside the world, try not to bash into the walls too much, try to have a nice family, have fun, save a little money. That's a very limited life.
"Life can be much broader, once you discover one simple fact, and that is that everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use.
"Once you learn that, you'll never be the same again."
The laptops are on eBay now, but they don't come cheap. They cost €9,500, which equates to £7,673. Still, it's all for a good cause. The proceeds will be split evenly between the charity Get It Done and a fund that laptop seller Uncover is setting up with SellanApp, which will help create not-for-profit iOS apps that have a societal value.
All three MacBook Pros are retina display-equipped, with 2.7GHz Intel Core i7 processors, 16GB memory and 750GB SSD.
Yesterday, Apple unveiled a tribute video to Jobs, detailing some of his greatest achievements. The Apple co-founder died on 5 October 2011.

I'm sorry, but to think that a Hong-Kong artist has to do that doesn't really strike me that Apple are charitable! It is not Apple making the donation after all! Millions in the courts, then 1BN from Samsung! It would be much better for apple to donate 1 Million towards Cancer research as that is simply pocket change to them and a tribute towards eradicating what caused the downfall of their glorious leader! Instead they create a tribute video, well that's just dandy lol.........

Could Steve Jobs have been any more hypocritical? He preached to people about breaking down walls society has put in front of them, but at the same time he built software walls around all of his devices to make it as hard as possible for people to modify them.
It really annoys me how people worship this man.
