It's not just the sticky July weather heating things up for Sony, as US regulators have demanded a recall of overheating Vaio laptops.
The problem could affect half a million of its Vaio VPCF11 and VPCCW2 laptops. No need to panic though: although the American Consumer Product Safety Commission wants a recall, Sony reckons this firmware upgrade will help your laptop keep its cool.
Those models that do get all hot under the collar could potentially burn you, but so far there have been no injuries beyond melted keyboards and casings.
